Water Safety Open Day 2024

World Drowning Prevention (WDP) Day is an international day that aims to raise awareness of the public health issue of drowning and highlight means of drowning prevention.For the third year in a row, Water Safety Scotland, alongside several partners such as Scottish Water, SFRS, The Darcey Sunshine Foundation and RoSPA hosted a Water Safety Open Day on the 25th of July in Support of WDP day.

This year the Water Safety Open Day took place at Loch Lomond Shores in Balloch. At this event, there were taster activities such as SUP, and canoeing led by our partners and avaible for attendees to take part in. Moreover, there were around 30 stands hosted by WSS partners. According to Loch Lomond Shores, around 3.6k people came to the site that day. The weather held out for us and the day was a success all round.
